It might seem obvious that the decorations on a cake should be edible, but its always been very popular for wedding cakes to be decorated with non-edible decorations. Plastic do-dads, silk flowers and the like managed to dress up the wedding cake, but they weren’t edible. The style-savvy couple of today won’t settle for plastic trinkets and fake flowers on their wedding cake; couples now expect their wedding cake decorations to be good enough to eat.
